Ripac bus backplanes are available in 32- or 64-bit versions to accommodate CPCI systems from 2 to 21 slots. This is achieved through modular installation of bus boards and connection to single-parts via CPCI or H.110 bridge modules. Each bus backplane section contains 2 to 8 slots and operates independently in conjunction with the CPU card and power supply.
For the installation of larger systems in Rittal electric cabinet, several components can be connected to each other via rear-mountable PCI bridge modules. In this case, only one of the connected components can operate with the CPU card in the system slot. Other components are subordinate to the CPU without a plug-in card. However, the first right slot on the bus board is available for a standard 32- or 64-bit CompactPCI host CPU.

Each Rittal cabinet system must have a unique 3U or 6U CPU plug-in card with 32 or 64 bits. The system slot on the right ensures that 2-slot or wider system cards do not cover other slots, rendering them unusable.
Available slots
Each Rittal enclosures bus backplane contains 2 to 8 3U or 6U slots (32 or 64 bits). Data transfer rate 132/264 MBytes, for 32/64-bit form +5 V, 33 MHz PCI bus interface 264/512 MBytes. For 32/64-bit form +3.3v, 66 MHz (maximum 5 slots) PCI bus interface PCI bridge single bus backplane does not require a bridge. A rear-mounted bridge is required for each additional bus backplane.
power supply
Each bus backplane contains a control connector. The voltage on this control connector will be tapped according to +3.3.+5, ±12V. The tap voltage can be used for the connection of high-power light-emitting diodes (LEDs), for example.
